He didn’t hear the self doubting voice in my head saying “this is way too hard, why didn’t you scale”, he didn’t feel my quads knotting up or the strain in my knees trying to get far enough to rep out the last lunge and he definitely didn’t care about my internal frustrations for failing at the muscle ups. No, all he saw with pride in his eyes was his dad being a boss for 12 minutes and working his ass off. And it will shape the choices he’ll make for himself and the man he will one day be.
