No time to get in a proper workout today with watching the boys while the wife was at work. So I came up with a little homework while the boys napped…
20 incline push-ups with no rest (plank ok – I failed at number 10 on last round)
10x 10 second pause full depth squats with 20 lb Ava bar.
30 sit-ups with 20lb Ava bar 10 rolling crunches – kneeling while rolling Ava bar out front and arms fully extended.
10 alternating lunges (however you get it done – I did jumping)
If you don’t know about the Ava bar it’s a special kids barbell made by @oso_barbell to benefit @jasonkhalipa ‘s daughter, Ava, and all children who are battling leukemia. Proceeds from the sale go to benefit the Jessie Rees foundation. Why did I use that bar? Because I was thinking about not working out and just started doing the push-ups and then made it up with what was around me. It was going to be a folding chair but it proved to be too light and my plate carrier was upstairs. And I’ll say, using the Ava bar was a little more than mental motivation. When motivation hits you just gotta do the work. However, whatever, wherever.
